Specialty Machinery Movers

High-value, calibration-sensitive and awkwardly shaped machinery that is neither standard medical nor standard plant, moved on purpose-built frames rather than a pallet jack and hope.

Overview

What this actually involves.

Some machinery does not fit either category. It is too sensitive for a general rigging crew, too odd-shaped for a standard dolly, and expensive enough that nobody wants to find out what a hard set-down does to it.

We move it on frames and dollies built for the component, with shock and tilt monitoring where the tolerance demands it. Sensitive assemblies stay supported at their designed lifting points, and there is a condition record at every stage rather than an argument afterwards.

Included

What you get.

  • Purpose-built frames, cradles and dollies per component
  • Lifting at designed pick points, never improvised ones
  • Shock and tilt monitoring on calibration-sensitive loads
  • Custom crating and foam packing where needed
  • Condition report and photographs at each handover
  • Climate-controlled storage between stages if required
How we do it

Specialty Machinery Movers, step by step.

01

Assess the machine

We establish weights, centres of gravity, designed lifting points and the tolerances that must survive the move before we specify anything.

02

Specify the handling

Frames, cradles, crating and monitoring are selected against those tolerances, not against whatever is on the truck that week.

03

Move and monitor

The machine travels supported at its designed points, with shock and tilt logged where the specification calls for it.

04

Set and document

Set into position, released to the commissioning engineer, and handed over with the condition record and monitoring log.

Questions

Specialty Machinery Movers, answered.

What counts as specialty machinery?

Anything where the move itself can put the machine out of specification, or where the shape and value mean standard handling equipment is not appropriate. If you are unsure, send us the model and we will tell you.

Do you build custom crates?

Yes, where a component needs it. Custom crating and foam packing are specified against the machine rather than pulled off a shelf.

Can you prove nothing happened in transit?

That is what the monitoring is for. Shock and tilt are logged, condition is photographed at each handover, and you get the record with the delivery.
